I figured it out guys. What I did was use Handbrake to convert the original file to an mp4 format, Then I exported the audio and video separately and put them together.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Thanks for the update.

 

Definitely update 8 to 8.0.1, but use the download from Adobe rather than anything that you might get from a Premiere Elements  8's Help Menu/Update.

Adobe - Premiere Elements : For Windows : Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.1 update

Get all that done with McAfee uninstalled.

 

Are you still getting the licensing message with just the 8.0 version of the program (no update yet)?

If so, we are left no choice but to install the 8.0.1 Update to determine if this resolves the issue.

 

As for that firewall, I am not sure what to do about that other than the details in the online article.

You can also make a pattern swatch using your existing image.

Place the image and embed it.

Select and press Cmd/Ctrl+7. Send the resulting rectangle to the back.

Drag both to the Swatches panel.

Hello

 

Since you didn't erase that Dropbox link, I assumed it was ok for me to download the clip to see how my system handled it.

So I went ahead and downloaded it out of curiosity and I can confirm Mark's findings: Premiere Pro CC 2014 imports and plays back that particular file just fine.

I am running a Windows 8.1 machine with dual 8 core Xeons, Quadro 5000, 64 GB of RAM, SSDs in RAID array.

So I tend to concur with Mark who wrote above: "If you have any codecs installed, perhaps one of them is actually interfering with Premiere reading your clips."

Windows 7 (64bit), i7 processor (3.6Ghz), 16 GB RAM.  I am importing XAVC S (1080/30p, not 4k) video into PE12.1 trial vs., and can edit and burn to Blu Ray, but would like control over export parameters.  I will look into the Lagarith codec and into outputting to a file.  I had previously posted about a 'Chapter Overflow Error' message with the trial version of PE12 on a Vista machine, and you suggested to try another machine.  Well this is the other machine and NO 'Chapter Overflow Error' while burning to Blu Ray disc.

I tried to activate my copy but the automated system would not allow it, so I tried to call it in and the phone system would not give me the code that would allow me to finish activation.

Adobe Reader superimposes the .pdf icon over all my icons. Hovering reveals the true icon. Short of deinstalling, can this be fixed??

Adobe Reader for Windows (latest and prior versions) superimposes the .pdf icon over all my icons - wherever they appear on my screen, in the tray or anywhere.  This trouble started when I opened a scanned 4 page document, but could only see the first page.  De-installing removes this problem; but then I can't open any .pdf document on my system.  Is this a known bug?  If so, what's the fix?

QXPScriptingAdditions.osax -- Quark EXpress scripting addons, and it doesn't work on your current machine.

DVCPROHDAudio- doesn't work on your current machine, probably migrated from an old PowerPC machine.

InitializeFontsenseXMP- that sounds kind of like a font manager plugin, not normally part of Photoshop.

The CTFont issue are minor.

The plugplug issues are odd, and sound like something is mis-installed.

Re: I'm new to adobe InDesign. I'm trying to change the size of 5 pages in by typing the width and Height in the control panel after selecting the 5 pages in the "pages panel. The program doesn't allow me to do this. Help please.

IF the 5 pages are the only pages in the document--then go to 'document setup' to change the page size.

IF the 5 pages are only part of a multipage document (i.e. there are more than 5 pages) then select one page in the pages panel--then choose the custom page size icon at the bottom of the pages panel--click it--a dialog will pop up where you can choose or create a custom page size--then repeat for the other 4 pages
